Dr. Richard Caven
Dr.
Richard Chace Caven is a fifth generation, Florida dentist. For
over 140 years, Dr. Caven and his family have strived to provide
the highest quality and most friendly dental care. Dating back to
the 1860's to Dr. Caven's great great grandfather, James Chace,
there has been true integrity and personal attention given to
patients. And as reported in The Jacksonville Magazine, his dental
peers have voted Dr. Caven as a Top Dentist in Jacksonville for 2
years running. There truly is Continuity in a Time of Change.
Dr. Caven was born and raised in Jacksonville and has practiced
dentistry here since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of
Notre Dame and received his D.M.D. from the University of Florida
College of Dentistry.
Dr. Caven is committed to continually learning about advances in
dental care. He has attended 1000's of hours of continuing
education courses in CEREC, Lasers, Invisalign, ZOOM Whitening,
advanced aesthetic considerations, porcelain veneers and crowns,
advanced dental bonding, implant restorations, TMJ diagnosis and
treatment, periodontal treatment, air abrasion technology, root
canal treatment, beautiful and functionally ideal dentures, Botox
Cosmetic and Juvederm Ultra dermal filler.
Dr. Caven has been featured on the local news and in the
newspaper, has published articles for local magazines and for more
than three years, Dr. Caven produced and hosted "Your Family
Dentist," a TV program that explained basic dental information to
the lay public in easy-to-understand terms.
Dr. Caven has been the Clinical Board Advisor of the local
Southpoint Study Club and is a member of the American Dental
Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Northeast District
Dental Association, the Jacksonville Dental Association, the
Academy of General Dentistry, the Pankey Learning Group, the
Gebhard Study Club and a Charter member of the Florida Academy of
Cosmetic Dentistry.
Rea - Practice Administrator

As your first contact, Rea welcomes you to the practice and acts
as a guide during your care. She primarily handles your insurance
needs and scheduling, in addition to answering questions about
treatment plans. Rea thrives on providing you excellent customer
service

Renee - Patient Facilitator

Renee creates a smooth entry into our practice for our new
patients by being dedicated to listening to your needs and wants
and guiding your through our exam process. She will be your
partner and advocate throughout the diagnostic and consultation
stages and available for questions throughout our relationship
together.

Kathy - Hygienist

Kathy is your first line of defense for your dental health,
providing professional cleanings to promote healthy gums. She is
well trained in the latest instrumentation, and using a gentle
touch and leading edge techniques, she is sure to put you at
ease.

Heather - Dental Assistant

Heather assists Dr. Caven in daily duties. She is able to
explain information about your dental health, helping you
understand your personal treatment process. Heather is a true
expert in her field and is also a CEREC instructor.
